INTRODUCTION

    The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Pompei College Aikala was established on 05 November 2004 in accordance with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) guidelines as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. It was established to improve the overall performance of the institution by aiming to develop and maintain a system to promote academic and administrative excellence. Being a central quality monitoring body of the institution, the IQAC strives to create, maintain and enhance quality in the overall functioning of the College by developing a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC works towards quality enhancement and sustenance in realization of the goals of the institution assuring all the stake holders about the quality and capacity building programmes provided in the institution.

    Pompei College Aikala was accredited by NAAC with ‘B’ Grade (Score Percent 70.85) for the first cycle in 2004 valid from 16 February 2004 to 15 February 2009. It was reaccredited with ‘A’ Grade (3.04 CGPA) for the second cycle in 2010 valid from 28 March 2010 to 27 March 2015 and ‘A’ Grade (3.31 CGPA) for the third cycle in 2016 valid from 16 September 2016 to 15 September 2021.

VISION OF IQAC

    To set benchmark to enhance and sustain quality culture aimed at sustaining all round excellence in academic and administrative practices at the institutional level for the periodic evaluation.

MISSION OF IQAC

  • To develop quality benchmarks and set mechanisms to channelize and systematize the efforts and measures towards institutional excellence
  • To ensure to realize the motto, mission and vision of the college, the plans and policies of the Management, University and the Government pertaining to knowledge production and dissemination through optimal efforts
  • To design and promote plans for the constant development of innovations in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching-learning experiences of the staff and students and to inculcate value–based education and document various activities for quality improvement
  • For safety purposes, do pay heed to the guidelines given by the instructors
  • To foster Learning-centric environment in the departments by motivating to use ICT tools for teaching and learning
  • To ensure adequate, maintained and functional support structure
  • To build systems that encourages the pursuits of the staff and students of the college;
  • To encourage and stimulate stakeholders to shoulder Social Responsibility
  • To interact with various stakeholders in preparation and submission of annual reports and self-study reports

OBJECTIVES

  • To develop and maintain a system of quality benchmarks/parameters to promote academic and administrative excellence
  • To develop measures towards quality enhancement through promoting quality culture in the College
  • To act as a liaison between different departments and stakeholders to disseminate information on various quality parameters of higher education
  • To act as a nodal agency of the Institution to organize and document various programmes/activities, inter and intra-institutional workshops, seminars to promote Quality Culture in the institution
  • To formulate a work plan to achieve objectives and to coordinate the execution of the plan
  • To arrange for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes
  • to promote research culture among staff and students
  • To facilitate the creation of a learner-centric environment by enabling faculty and learners to adopt to technology assisted teaching and learning process
  • To adopt and disseminate best practices and promote institutional values among the faculty and students of the college
  • To ensure internal and external audit
  • To prepare the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC
